Rent a Car procedure

1. RENTAL PERIOD

- Renting can be done either by booking online or by phone.
- Rental period represents the total number of days between delivery and return the car.
- Renting can be achieved for a minimum of 48 hours.
- The car is delivered on the date, at the location and time established with the customer.
- The customer receives in advance from the rental office all the information on the meeting with staff and contact details of staff who will deliver the car.
- The customer can pick up the car from the rental office if so previously agreed with the agency.
- After the meeting with the agent, the client will sign the rental papers, will pay the cost of the rent and the deposit, will check the car and use it until the end of the rental period.
- On the last day of the rental period, the customer will bring the car on the location and at the time seted-up with the agent and mentioned in the rental agreement.
- The vehicle must be returned with full tank (otherwise the client will pay the fuel until the full tank for a price of 1.5 euros/liter).
- The client will pay penalties if lose the car keys or documents.
- The car will be rented with clean interior and exterior surfaces and will be returned under the same conditions, otherwise the client will pay penalties.

2. THE RENTAL DOCUMENTS

- For renting the car the customer must present the original driving license issued with at least one year before the date on which the lease begins.
- The vehicle can not be rented on a copy of the original driving license.
- To rent a car, the customer must present a valid ID card issued on his name.
- Lease contract is the document signed between the customer and the rental company. This is the only document used in litigation.
- The customer must carefully read the rental/lease contract before signing because he will have to comply with the conditions written in the contract, and the rental company whose name is listed in the contract will be responsible for services provided.

3. PAYMENT

- After the client signed the lease, the cost of the renting period must be paid in advance.
- Payment can be made in cash or by credit card (MasterCard, Eurocard, Visa).
- Apart from Rent Car Romania, the bank charges for credit card processing a fee of 3%. If the guaranty applicable (you will read about it below), this tax does not exist.
- Rental prices includes VAT, unlimited kilometers and insurance.
- Particular situations will be discussed separately.
- Payment in advance is the amount that the company requests from the customer to book a rental car. This amount represents the equivalent of at least one day of rent and shall be deducted from the total amount charged to customer’s renting.
- In the day when the customer is renting the car, will pay the difference between the total amount of renting and the amount paid in advance.
- If the customer does not honor the reservation, this amount remains in the rental company’s account.
- The car reservation could be also done, if necessary, by blocking on the customer’s credit card an amount representing the equivalent of at least one rental day. This amount isn’t an advance payment, because the client card isn’t debited and in the company has not any income.
- Operation of withhelding the amount for one day of renting will be done only if the customer is not present at the lease.
- If the client attend for renting, the rentals’ amount unlocks the credit card and this is going to pay all the rent according with the lease contract.

4. ADDITIONAL FEES

- The supply/return from the airport a fee of 10 Euros will be applied.
- If delivery/return take place between 10.00 am – 7.00 pm, the fee is € 20.
- If there are no cars available in the requested location, a car can be brought from another location with additional fees and the customer will be informed before renting.
- If car is returned by the client in another location, other than the delivery place, it will have to pay an additional fee depending on the number of miles between the location of delivery and the place of returning it.
- At the beginning of the rental period, a security deposit will be requested.
- The deposit is refunded after checking by the body and the technical condition of the car.
